Terms of Service
Last updated:
The Neoteric Academy of Art ("we", "us", "our") operates theneotericarts.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, applying to a program, or enrolling, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Site.
We may update these Terms. The current version is always posted on this page, and continuing to use the Site after a change means accepting it.
1. What We Provide
We are an art school. We teach observational drawing, painting and sculpture — in person at SoundPlex Studios in Pennsauken, New Jersey, and online. Programs include the nine-month Conservatory, private mentorship, and a residency in Tuscany. The Site itself is informational: it describes those programs, publishes our prices, and lets you apply or enquire.
2. Applying and Enrolling
An application is not an offer of a place, and submitting one does not create one. Places in the Conservatory are limited and admission is at our discretion. We read every application and reply either way.
The application review fee is for work we do regardless of the outcome — reading your application, reviewing the work you show us, and the admissions interview. It is not a deposit against tuition. It is paid when you book the interview.
Prices, dates and program details published on the Site are current at the time of posting and may change before a cohort begins. What you owe, and when, is set by the arrangement you agree with us when you enroll — not by this Site.
No payment is taken through this Site. Tuition, session fees and residency payments are handled through separate payment providers.
3. Students Under Eighteen
The teen Conservatory is for students aged fourteen to seventeen. An application for anyone under eighteen must be made by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the enrollment, for what is owed, and for arrangements to and from the studio. We correspond with that adult.
4. Your Work Stays Yours
You keep every right in the artwork you make and in anything you show us. Applying does not give us a license to it. We will not publish, exhibit or use a student's or applicant's work for promotion without asking you first and getting your agreement — and for a student under eighteen, their guardian's.
Please only send us work that is yours to send.
5. Our Material
The Site — its text, design, photographs and the artwork reproduced on it — belongs to us or to the artists who made it, and is protected by copyright. Course material, exercises and written feedback are provided for your own study. You may not copy, republish or teach from them commercially without our written permission.
6. Use of the Site
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that damages or disrupts it;
- Submit false information, or apply on someone's behalf without their knowledge;
- Attempt to gain access to any part of the Site or its systems you are not authorized to reach;
- Copy or scrape the Site's content or images for republication.
7. Conduct in the Studio
The studio is a working room shared with eleven other people. We expect students to treat each other, the models, the faculty and the space with respect, and we may end an enrollment for conduct that makes the room unworkable for others.
Studying from the living model is part of classical training and is part of this curriculum.
8. Third-Party Links and Tools
The Site links to services we do not control — scheduling, payment and email providers among them. We are not responsible for their content or their practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
9. No Warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that everything on it is complete and current. Nothing on the Site is a guarantee of any particular result from studying with us.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
14. Text Messages
If you give us your number and agree to it, we may text you about your application or a booked session. Agreeing is never a condition of applying or enrolling. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
